FINAL FILM POSTER

This is the final and improved horror poster , as you can see there has been a huge improvement within the poster, from the images and positioning of the poster features, once again the image was the problem for this poster so just like the magazine we resized it and edited it to make our poster seem more horrific and realistic,some things that made it realistic would have to be the credit list info, institution logos and the slogan; key features a film poster needs to gain their target audiences attention. we used the classic colour schemes of a horror film, red, white and black, when you compare this poster to the first version of our poster you will recognise a huge difference once again i thank the constructive critisicism we gain from the audience and class members. 

HORROR MAGAZINE IMPROVEMENT AND FINAL PRODUCT

Here we have my groups final magazine cover along with the first draft to show the improvements we made after we showed some people the first draft of our magazine cover, to remind you the magazine cover at the top is the first draft and the cover at the bottom is the final improved magazine cover, some major improvement we made were the image size and the designing and positioning of the masthead. We changed the whole design of the masthead which made looking and reading the word `HORRORSCOPE' sound and look horrific, it also ties in with the horror genre. with the articles we changed the colour of them to fit in well with the whole design, we also included an image of a scene from the movie alongside with the title of our film to make the cover seem more realistic.

PROPS USED IN OUR HORROR TRAILER

These were the main props that had some sort of link to the storyline of our film

Knife

 We used a knife in the trailer as the murder weapon for one scene, which would enlighten the audience on what sort of murderer miles is, as he picked it up in the trailer it already had blood on it as if it had already been used for a previous killing. Even though the knife was shown in the trailer we didn’t show it being used for any of the killings and I admit this is where we had an error. I think that we didn’t end up using it because it was a real knife; we had safety issues to consider at the time. 

Black Hoody

 Identity was hidden using a hoody at times so that the majority of the killers body was hidden so that it did not give off a clear view of how miles the killer was being portrayed. Being completely different to the father figure he was meant to be, when he’s out of the killing identity. The reason behind the hoody being black is because that represents the villain being bad/evil, scheming and conniving. Hoodies themselves are seen as a symbol of rebellious activities and mayhem, in London hoodies was a topic brought up in the news numerous times following murders and robberies, as a team we thought this was a good idea to incorporate in our trailer to make our villain seem realistic and bad.

White mask

This mask was used to hide identity so that the victims of the killer didn’t know who was killing them, miles who was playing the psychopath wore a white mask during some of the scenes used in the trailer, this creates a sense of mystery for the victims as they do not have a clue as to who is murdering people, This adds an effect towards the audience leaving them wanting to go and see the film.  The fact that the mask had one emotion which contributed to the killers’ double life and personality leaving the audience feeling confused in some sense yet intrigued to see more.

Mobile Phone 

At the beginning of the trailer you will see a mobile phone where `Jordan's Dad' is shown this was to start off the trailer with some confusion and interest leaving the viewers interested to see what and how this may link to the disequilibrium of the film. 

MAGAZINE RESEARCH

Magazine cover research, I'm looking at rock music magazines because rock and horror have similar conventions most horror films tend to have rock music in them. The figures shown on the magazine look scary themselves, with the magazine covers I've noticed how the images stand out more than the body of text this may be because with music magazine posters showing members of the band, this would increase their chances of attracting their audience. 


With our magazine we will be taking features from music magazines and incorporating our pictures and other horror looking features to create an appealing magazine, the masthead on music magazines are plain, with our magazine we would want to incorporate some sort of horrific graphics to it in order to contribute to the whole horror genre.
